The calculation is:
1604 ft2 per wet mil per gallon This is ALWAYS the calculation no matter what the paint or what the solids are or... if you missed breakfast that morning. However, keep in mind... this is for WET mils... not dry... So, if you are painting 4" board then that is 1/3 of a foot. So, every 3 linear feet of board would be 1 ft2. So, for linear feet of 4" board you would multiply 1604*3=4812 So, you would have: 4812 linear feet of 4" board per wet mil per gallon... Now, all you have to do is divide the 4812 by the number of dry mils yo intend to put down. So, if you are planning on brushing on 5 wet mils you would get: 4812/5=962 linear feet of 4" board per gallon
