Color Recommendation

I know you'll hate this question, but I'm gonna ask it anyhow. I need a color choice, other than black or white, to paint the shutters and aluminum awning on a house that has olive green aluminum siding. They are presently white. I want a color that will make the olive green siding look more "modern". I'm thinking something along the lines of a khaki color, but I'm no designer. I suck at that part. I figured a few painters might know a shutter color that always goes good with olive green. I can post a picture, if need be.

Re: Color Recommendation

Before I even finished reading your post I was thinking a khaki color myself. Thats what I would go with, but then again I'm no designer either

Re: Color Recommendation

I was also thinking a tan or brownish colour, people are moving towards the earth tones lately.

Re: Color Recommendation

What color are your shingles? Do you have concrete or a paver drive? Is there stone or brick on the house? Kaki has a grey-brown tone to it, that may not go so well with the blue shingles and red brick walk.....

mmmm... I'm not 100% sure what color the shingles are. I think they're a light charcoal; 3-tabs. No stone or brick. Maybe a course or two of raw block at the bottom. The drive is concrete.

Charcol is black and my wife would not let me leave the with a brown shoes and a black suit. The Kaki could easily be tinted to go to the black tone rather then the brown.

Thanks. FWIW, you can't really see the roof much when you're looking at this particular house. You can't get back far enough, due to the fact that it's on a dense street.

My next problem I need to solve is to figure out what washes the chalking off the green siding, that came off the white shutters, without messing up the green.

Pictures?
Sometimes it helps to get a flavor for the house.

I was afraid red and green would make it look like a Christmas house. I'll have to drive down there this afternoon and take a picture so that I can play around with it.

This is my house, I was totally against the blue trim until it was done. Looks much better in person! I love it.
