I'm sliding here as were not to help homeowners.

to tell oil from latex, rub with alcohol. latex will come off. If it's oil, welcome to aircraft stripper. Buy the good stuff from a commercial supplier plus the Tyvek suits, head masks, safety glasses, et al. The good stuff is really NASTY and WILL burn holes in YOU.

Teetor, the guy has 400 posts, and been here since '04. Why would you think he is a home owner?

It stands for "and others". If you ever see the words "et ux" it means "and wife". The terms are often seen in legal documents like property deeds and such.
