Cleaning a 5-Gallon grill?
I have dried latex on it.
Is there anything I can soak it in to remove that latex paint that won't remove the galvanization?
I've tried denatured alcohol on a metal try and it rusted right up.
I looks like I could keep using it without removing the paint......
Do the pros just buy new ones for every job?

EZ OFF oven cleaner (the original yellow can) will make latex fall off like melted butter. Spray 'er down good and wait overnight. Spray it off with a hose. It's basically caustic (lye) solution.

Yeah, but you need to wait until 'Earth Day' to use that procedure.

One of my helpers spilled a quart of latex paint on a customers driveway a few years ago. We tried laundry detergent and water, lots of water. Then we got a goo-be-gone type of product that removes dried latex paint. Come to find out, it removes asphalt, it even says it on the can....if I only read it before we killed their driveway. The driveway was brand new!

Nah....use em till their all clogged up and throw em away. They are less than $2 a piece. We put them down in the paint until we finish the job then we rinse them off which usually only cleans the bottom half and just use em up. At $45/hr it's not worth the time to clean them more than that.

Every summer I throw 20-30 of them in a big metal wash tub, and light it up. Knock em off with a hammer, and your good to go. Sometimes I'll give them a shot of rattlecan primer before using them again.
Phuck the earth, save yourself!
