Re: Bulk Caulk Gun Loaders

...I wouldn't buy used, they are too cheap and they need decent maintenance, and I'd wanna know what has been done. Get the plastic cups instead of leathers for latex caulks. Oh, and get Cox. I'd never get another Albion. Far prefer the Cox, won't list reasons unless you ask, jf

Re: Bulk Caulk Gun Loaders

jon fife ...was talking about the bulk caulk gun loaders, not the caulk guns itself....the bulk gun loader is meant to be inserted into a 5 gallon bucket of caulk, you screw your bulk gun into the threaded outlet, pump the loader and VOILA ! your bulk gun is loaded in 4 pumpsno mess no fuss...but I dont use one every day to justify the 490.00 price tag ,so I am in the market for a used one.....any feedback please ?

PAINTEROFEVERYTING:

...You MUST be talking about one of those "manual" loaders....has like a ratchet arm that loads the bulker. Those are expensive, and un-necessary IMO. Here is why I like Cox: Albion has the followplate as "D" said, but it is threaded. The Cox one just "pops" on. Much cleaner, neater, easier. Also, Cox comes with plastic tips you cut to size. Albion you have to get different sizes, and keep them clean, etc. YOu can get a new bulk gun and follow plate for around $120 at www.loghomecenter.com, tell him I sent you and you are a contractor.

Re: Bulk Caulk Gun Loaders

....Those guys are cool, good service. Basically, the follow plate keeps you from having to buy that rediculously expensiive pump. Make sure when you put the plate on top of the material, you cover it all in water. This will "seal" it, so that when you "draw" the material, you get a good full gun. Honestly, I've never got the hang of this. But this is what my guys do successfully. Keep plenty of CLEAN buckets of water around to put stuff in.
