BM buying Insul-X

Read an article today that BM is buying Insl-X brands, which includes Insl-X, coronado, bruning, lenmar and trinity lacquers, maxum. Not sure if this is new news or old.

I heard this also. I thought it was a done deal already, with its main purpose to beef up BM's industrial line. The only Insl-x products have used are Cabinet Coat and Stix. Both are good products, but quality control seems a little lacking on the Cabinet Coat. I used to use a lot of Maxum Stain, but my dealer stopped carrying it.

Years ago Maxim was made here in the Chicago area and was good, then Coronado bought them and the product lost favor to Cabots Pro VT

I used maxum stain when I worked for someone else, it seemed a good product, but we had a bunch of 5's tinted straight from the factory for some condos that where gray to start and turned baby blue on the buildings after 1-2 years, problem with the colorant. The stuff tinted at my paint store did not turn color though.
