Anyone able to recomend a good quality block paint? Our office is needing paint real bad but im not a fan of heights and such. Really would rather not have to do it over every 6 months.

TIA

Re: Block Paint

Maybe it the paint they use to paint the little wood blocks with numbers and letters on them that my kids like to throw at each other.

Re: Block Paint

K & R's new office is in a bad neighborhood, so he want's to paint the whole block. You know, try to improve the neighborhood!

But he doesn't want to do it every 6 months, for fear of being hung from a tall tree. since he's afraid of heights & the neighbors don't want increased property taxes.

Re: Block Paint

Not sure what it's called, maybe it's called Block Paint? There's this display setup at some of the different suppliers, where a block is half paint with white block paint, and the display has a continuous stream of water flowing around it. Next time I go I'll actually look, but perhaps someone else knows that display I'm talking about. I only have seen it at General Paints, but never paid much attention as they are my sundry supplier.

Re: Block Paint

If your having to repaint every 6 months maybe you need to remove the old paint, Here's what we do when we have new block to paint use Benjamin Moore's Block Filler, this stuff is designed to soak into the block that way when you paint your finish it doesn't get sucked into the block. another thing is if you have water speeping in then you need DryLock paint this will stop any moisture, then when you paint it will last longer then 6 months.

Re: Block Paint

Frankawitcz has given the right info for you.

Block filler is made for cinder block and such. You can do a search for block filler, read the specs and find out which one will last the longest.

there are also elastomeric paints, which we use on the new condo exteriors. It is really, really thick. You can search that out too, it may be what you're looking for.

Re: Block Paint

I watched a painter I used to work for take a tube of dap painter's caulk and add it to one gallon of paint ( i think it was BM superhide eggshell). Curious as I was, he told me it was for filling the little holes on concrete blocks so you paint and fill in same coat.
