Re: Bidding New Construction

I would say that you dont have to worry about gettin that job. 2.00 a sq ft of wall? Thats is way to much imo. I dont know what market your in but that is still probably way to high.

Actually here in nw ohio that is kinda low. There are painters that are charging 2.25-2.75 and they are booked through the winter already. What I can't figure out is why these builders keep building specs when they are still sitting on 3 or 4.

2.00 a sq ft of wall? Not floor space. Is that including door frames or anything just seems like a high number. 10000 sq ft of wall cost $20000 dollars? We can do 10000 sq ft of wall 1 prime 2 finish in well under a week. I need to move to somewhere else.

Re: Bidding New Construction

Alot of guys just go by the sq ft of the house. Most of the biggest homes around here are at the most 3500 sqft not including trim or casing. Pre-stained trim and casing around here is the norm. I get about 6,000 for a 2500 sqft home and that is just a blow and go and alittle bit of staining.
