Schluter Systems KERDI!

Unless you actually meant paint. I use 1-2-3 for a base coat.

If you're talking about inside the tub/shower area, you need two coats of liquid waterproofing. Redguard, Aquadefense or similar....or Kerdi membrane. (This is for tile?)

No tile. Only want to prime/seal on raw drywall, not after the paint (higher gloss paint).

He asked for the best primer for his problem bath. If just anyone can paint what the hell do I care they can't apply it and can't stand the odor.

Ease of application and saving of brain cells. The best is not always necessary.

Re: Best Drywall Sealer - Bath

If you're looking for the best drywall sealer/primer I'd recommend Gardz. Apply 2 coats to ensure you didn't miss anything, but 1 coat should work fine if you apply it as heavy as you can. Because Gardz is so thin (think water like consistency) it penetrates into the drywall and seals better than anything else I've found.

Here's a link to the product data sheet: http://www.rustoleum.com/~/media/Dig...ealer_TDS.ashx

If that's not available then I'd use 1-2-3.
