bees

What do you guys do about bees when painting outside? Last year I spent a great amount of time dealing with bee nests free of charge for I could finish the job and get paid. Does any one put a fee in thier contract incase of bee removal? I thinking of getting a bee suit for next year for I can kill those fu****s faster and get on with painting...

I know some people would say leave the job and tell the homeowner to call a bee guy but that would make me lose to much money instead of dealing with it myself real quick like....

Over time you get to know where the nests will be and look for them when you do the bid. Vent's, peaks and inside the gutters. Sometimes I get surprised by the gutter nests. Usually when my hand is on the roof and I get stung.

Always get the good wasp spray that shoots 20 feet. If i can just spray a couple nests on the job, no charge. If I have to go in the night before to take them out, I charge. If a professional has to be called in, I will know that in advance because I spotted some big nests when doing the estimate. Then stay in communication with the HO so you can schedule with them.

Doing re-roofs you run into them a lot, wasps, not bees, I use the best wasp spray money can buy and take them out. I've never felt a need to charge for it.

I try and deal with it myself with a good spray
If it's too much, I call the H/O
I give them the option
They can call their bug guy, or they (or I) can call mine
When I tell them mine will be there in an hour and their will be no lost time from the project, they usually want mine
And my guy is always there within an hour

i recomend the good wasp spray that shoots 20 feet. If you are bleaching a house down, i find that the bleach will kill them as effectively as the wasp spray.
