Basic Tool Kit


i was just wondering that if im going to do maritime painting what do i need in my tool kit? i already have latex and oil brushes gloves respirator and NIOSH filters and fresh whites and a 5 in 1 tool..anything else?

you will need some big 'ol tarps. A smart brain and a good attitude always helps. You may need a camera to take pics of your work and the hot lassies walking around.

oh..yeah..the most obvious thing.....hahaha..whats the minimum OSHA card hours ithat some yards will accept??..i have my OSHA 10 but i heard some yards are requiring at least an OSHA 30 card...the one i wanna go to work for is in Bremerton Washington and im not really sure what card they require

Safety glases clear and dark,ear plugs,Wire brushes large/small,sandpaper,pee roller + skins,rags,screwdriver w/multi tips,8-10" adjustable wrench,vise grip pliers,wire cutter,razor blades,4"razor scraper,navy scraper,chipping hammer,hammer,duct tape,masking tape,bailing wire,flash light,spare batteries,trash bags and a few other things

Don't forget lunch...but seriously, besides your basic hand tools, I'm assuming you will be working with other painters?

If so, see what works for them. Most guys are willing to talk shop and share a little knowlege. This way you get exactly what you need w/o buying tools you'll never use.

TCJC are u going as a contractor or employee.shipyard or local boat yard.
