Baseboard Rate?

Got a job that customer is having a new hardwood floor installed. The stained colonial style base will be removed before flooring is installed. I will be going back in and making the stain look go away (painting all trim white) and just curious if anyone has a rate they use for running baseboard? I will likely prime and sand (on saw horses) before installation, then install, fill holes, caulk, apply finish coat. Looking at around 140 LF. I will also be painting all doors, frames/jambs, and windows as well.

WHEW! It's a lot of work for this ol' guy - since I haven't been terribly busy since the holidays! Oh well, I know it's coming though...warm weather and painting that is! Thanks for replies...

Re: Baseboard Rate?

As long as you have primer, caulk and paint that cures relatively quickly in regards to recoating it sounds like two days work for me....just an average painter. So I would charge two days worth plus materials and markup. You can divide that if you want a per foot amount.

Re: Baseboard Rate?

Our price for baseboards is $4.50 per linear foot plus the cost of the pre-primed MDF baseboards plus an 10% extra charge for the loss of materials due to cutting. This includes, purchase, delivery, one coat semi-gloss uninstalled, install, patch/caulk and a final topcoat after installation. Hope this helps.
