Anyone use mohair covers?

Do painters still use these?

My father talks about my grandfather using these 40-50yrs ago saying they leave the walls smooth as if it was sprayed. NO marks whatso ever

I guess wooster makes mohair but dont know if it is the true ones or just their "version" of it.

Any input/feedback will help,

I will give the woosters a try anyway

Robert

Never seen a full size mohair roller used, but I absolutly love the mohair mini rollers. Use them for trim or when painting metal and whatnot. They really do leave an awesome finish.

I thought that rollers weren't invented until the seventies. You sure they were using them 50 years ago?

As far as experience with them, I've never had the opportunity to try one. I'm going to check with my supplier and try one out on some doors.

The simple (in hindsight), yet extremely useful, paint roller is
another great Canadian invention. In 1940, Norman Breakey, a
Toronto inventor, patented the device which would subsequently
revolutionize the painting business and help usher in a new era
of self-help home improvements. Once the paint roller became
known to the public, imitators popped up everywhere, and
Breakey did not have the resources to enforce his rights.
Despite his great contribution, Breakey reaped few of the
rewards which might have flowed from his ingenuity. Breakey
invented a few other devices, but none as significant as the
paint roller.
