Anyone Come Across Any New Tools That Help Speed Up Production Time?
Over the last six months, I've come across two tools in particular that I really like: the first is a new brush Purdy is selling called "Cub." It has a really short handle, only ones I've seen so far are 2.5" http://www.paintpro.net/All_Access/7...t-Profiles.cfm . It's the best cutting brush I've ever used.
The second tool is also made by Purdy. It's their Pro Extra cageless roller handle. http://www.purdycorp.com/catalog/frames/display/1/null Not sure how new it is, but it is new to me. The 1 3/4" inside diameter holds more paint than standard rollers. I like the wood handled model. The cageless feature makes busting off used roller covers a breeze, and clean up is fast, only problem so far is finding places that sell the covers. Its hard to find a retailer that keeps a bunch in stock. Either the one store Ive found that carries them sell tons of them and always sold out, or they dont sell that many at all and only order new stock sporadically. |

You can knock the cover off of a Wooster Sherlock cage with one tap to a 5 gal so that's no biggie How much more paint it holds seems negligible, but perhaps that's because I can't get my regular (usual) sleeves in that size Yeah, I've got one, it sits in the van

Nah, nothing too new here. I've used the brush and roller frame though. I'm a big time purdy fan, but I never really like using the frame. It annoys me how it slides.
You dont really use the "cub" to cut walls do you?? I sure hope not...

Only two things.

Re: Anyone Come Across Any New Tools That Help Speed Up Production Time?![]() I think OSHA requires that you use safety glasses and gloves to use it.

OSHA? Well, they will never see the inside of my bedroom, so no fines for me...

You better watch out if you erect anything in your bedroom, they might have jurisdiction.

My partner and I just got an 18 inch roller, which on our current jobs is at least 50% faster than a 9 inch roller.

Speeds up production time... hmmm, beer works... but only for about two hours. Throwing a paintbrush at someone works pretty well, until they get pissed and quit. Only thing i've found that increases production lately is mo monay.

Yeah that does look a little mm (whatever that means).
Reminds me of the Ronco slicer-dicer... |

I like my etch-a-stretch thingy. Attaches brush to extension pole, saves having to unstrap my ladder for a 2 second reach.
