Any suggestions on how to lighten stone on this fireplace?

Hello,

Can someone please help me find a way to lighten the stone on this fireplace without damaging it?

I have no idea other than spaying it with paint or something but not sure how that will work.

Does anyone know how to go about lightening the color of stone?

Thanks

What kind of rehabs do you do?

Have you ever run into something similar to this before, or is this something just for your own home?

not sure

I am not sure about lightening the stone, but if the Discovery/History Channel shows around halloween are for real, that there house is haunted by a few spirits (all the round orbs/ light blobs in the picture) Or the more likely explanation that you need a better camera or camera settings.

If it were my job, the easiest option would be some kind of a white wash and otherwise, give a good faux finisher a call and see what they could come up with.

PS. Forget about lightening the stone...leave it be
Get rid of the groovy deep poop brown '70s shag and nicotine yellow-brown walls and let the stone pop out like it should
