Any Complaints With BM Aqua Glo Semi Gloss?

May be a coincidence, but the last few gallons of BM semi-gloss I've used were absolutely horrible. Like spreading glue. For the first time I found myself not only using Floetrol, but a decent amount of water as well to finally get it workable and levelling out. I've always liked the product, but I wanted to toss it out the window. BTW--this was ready mix White.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing?? Also--any reco's on some nice semi-gloss products out ther? I'm a 99.9% Benny Moore guy, but it may be time to look around.

Tried Waterborne Satin Impervo a few times (low lustre), and in some instances had really good results, especially with a Whizz roller, but a PITA to work with.

No problems with the BM AquaGlo here.

Have you tried their Super Spec S/G?

Personally, I really like the Waterborne SI. Its got a learning curve, but great finish.

Pro--perhaps a coincidence on the AquaGlo--who knows but I had to vent. Sating Impervo is really nice. Expensive, but nice. I just finished my babies room (just had twins!!) and used it to paint bookshelves some cabinets and wainscotting, and I have to say it looks really nice. With the Whizz you can almost get a sprayed look.

BTW--I guess neither of us has a life--12:40 am on this board!!! I figure I'll stay up until the next feeding.

Congrat's on the twins. Take a nap whenever you can.
I'm up trying to write an article for the NGPP newsletter.

I had a bad can of BM last year, took like 4 coats to go slightly off white over white.

OK--bought another gallon today from a totally different store just to see--and voila--it was everything I remembered it to be I'm glad cause it was always my fav.

Must have been a bad batch--but it was about three gallons that all gave me the same problem.

I guess I won't have to call it "semi-glue" anymore.
