I hear ya, ever other call is a bs bid that they want glass tile steam shower for 5,000

I was going to talk to him about vinyl, not for 3k. Every inch of this house needs to be scraped so vinyl may be a better way to go. Whoever built this house did it with the best, slate roof with copper flashing. The siding is in great shape just wasnt kept up on paint.
