Question

Airless With Generator?

I have a project that involves a lot of spraying from a lift and want to use a generator instead of lots and lots of extension cords that will be under the lift wheels. I have the Graco 595 and looked on Graco's site it shows a min. 3000 watt generator! That doesn't seem right to me. Does anyone have experiance with this. A 3000 watt generator seems like over-kill.

Re: Airless With Generator?

I've not run an airless off a genny but those things are 15 Amps
That's a lot (pretty much the max 120 volt tool)
Yeah 3000 sounds like overkill, and it is...a little
But it gives you a bit of a safety margin so you don't burn out the machine

If you do the math (120v x 15a) you get 1800
Add a decent safety margin, 3K isn't that out of line

You'd be pushing it with a 2000
Not that it wouldn't work, but IMO not a good idea

Gas powered airless ? I use one for jobs like that or where there is no electricity yet.
