Bonding Question

I'm installing a 240 single phase 600 amp service on a rural farm. I will have a meter and 600 amp disconnect switch mounted on a pedastal with an underground service coming to it from the utility company. Then come off the disconnect underground to three separate dist. panels with 200 amp mains in them. My question is on the bonding. I know to bond at the 600 main disconnect is the right thing to do. But should I also bond at the 200 dist. panels? And if so should I run 4 wires undergrond to them rather than 3? Thanks for reading and replying if you do.

Re: Bonding Question

You have a choice here. You can either run 4-wire and don't bond the panels, or run 3-wire and bond those panels. Don't forget to jam in more ground rods at each building and catch the water pipes.

Re: Bonding Question

I don't think you have a choice. Regardless if you run 3 or 4 wires you must establish grounding at each structure if they are considered seperate buildings. No reason to run 4 wires.

Re: Bonding Question

The OP was asking about bonding the neutral, he asked nothing about a grounding electrode.

Marc already stated that a grounding electrode and water bond are required at each structure.

BTW, this thread is a year old.
