Pool Pump Need To Upgrade

Hi, I purchased a solar heating system that I placed 55 feet away from my pool to get maximum sun I have noticed although the pump seems to be running fine the inlet flow is not as strong as it has been ie put my hand over it has not got the same force as before, my pump is a Hayward Power flo Matrix 1hp with a Hayward Model S180t90 high rate filtration system and I think I may have to up it, the pool is a 16x32 oval and the lie of the land is fairly even the thing I noticed first was my basket coming from the skimmer was not gathering the usual contamination and also the pump strainer did not seem to be loaded with the same.
Please could you inform me of my options on various pumps and hp.
Thanking you in anticipation D/B
Ps. My pressure guide glass is also not working properly if that has any bearing on the matter I suppose not.

3 way diverter valve,
so half flow is going throw heater & half back to pool. its a backpressure prob your having.... a bigger pump won't solve it.....

ie; you putting 5 pounds in a 1 pound bag (its a metaphor)

Re: Pool Pump Need To Upgrade

Hi sorry if I seem a bit dense but where would this valve go and are you sure it would dismiss the low pressure back into the pool to circulate the water thus remove contamination, so not requiring a bigger pump.
Ps. Would send a pic but don't know how

Much Regards D/B

Re: Pool Pump Need To Upgrade

Thank for the pm not quite sure how to actually paste your answer in.
Anyhow I have since been told by a few local dealers the only answer is to move the heating collector to as near to the pool as possible to eliminate the low pressure travelling the roughly 55 feet.
Would you still get enough water going back to the pool to make a difference to the temp.
I value your comments so you are saying to get the 3 way valve would definatly solve the problem of the flow of water in the pool.

Much regards D/B

Re: Pool Pump Need To Upgrade

contiuing saga of my low pressure !! as you said before (POOLMAN IN CT) the 3 way diverter valve is the way to go, now I've been told by a dealer this is the same as lessening the flow from the manual cut off on the solar panel I guess this is not true but I just need you to verify this and is it possible if I show you a pic of the filter/pump set up you could you could run me through how to go about installing it, I know it seems basic but this is our first full year with pool, and I don't want to fck anything up (xcuse my french)

Thanking you in anticipation David

Re: Pool Pump Need To Upgrade

well when I turn off the flow fully to the pool from the panel it increases the pressure a bit but not enough to pull the debris into the skimmer so what now
