Re: Pond Vacs?
I used my shop vac to clean out my pond a bunch times with no problem. Get a good filter (for the pond) and you won't have to clean it out as often. Tom

Re: Pond Vacs?
If you get some powerful batteries, I'm sure that you can shock the fish to kill them. I've also heard of using dynamite, but never seen either method used. But you should try one of these before you resort to emptying a pond.
If you must empty the pond, I would probably punch a hole in the dam. Install some pipe with a shut-off to facilitate doing this in the future if you want to empty it on a regular basis.

Re: Pond Vacs?
How about a 12 gallon 5.0 Ultra Pro Shop-Vac...It's on sale at ACE. Pond stores want over $200 for there POND-VAC and it's smaller. I want to avoid empting out the pond...stresses out the fish and tend to loose a couple in the process.
