Sounds like you're totally at loose ends as to what to do with yourself, but you want to make some good money running a small business with the above attributes. Doesn't sound like you want to work for someone else, learn a business, and then maybe go off on your own once you've mastered a trade.

but I could be wrong.
Actually I asked about three...Decorative Concrete, Pool Business, and Rock Flooring. I've been doing the pool business. The guy I work for is looking for something to add-on to his pool business. That's why I was inquring about the concrete and rock stuff mainly.

Not really at loose ends. I've been doing the pool business, learning all about it, thinking about somewhere down the road possibly trying to start one myself. Just curious how to determine what the market is like. Of course that means all the trolls come out to tell me I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, I have no idea what's going on, etc. etc. Not really a big deal, if you don't have anything to suggest go take your attitude and kick your cat or something...why waste time replying???

You're probably right it's a good lane to get into and not hard to get started but to build and keep a customer base you'll need problem solving experience. I.E. when to change filter sand, what to do about a green pool, why the heater/chiller ain't runnin.
Your customers will call you first, when you can't fix it...
p.s. Yes there are a few different "green water" problems you'll come across.
Glad to here that! Yeah I'm kinda seeing that about the customer base, it does seem to be one of the big challenges.

I've been cleaning for a little while now. Plan to go to a CPO course, and some Jandy manu. training courses early next year.

Yes I have noticed that a green pool isn't necessarily always going to require the same resolution.

Read a good suggestion in a book once:

Remove the beam from thine own eye before you attempt to remove the mote from thy brother's

Sorry to offend, was just trying to get a feel for you. Thanks for making that clear.

Re: Number Of Pools In A Given Area???

2006silverado send me an email which is in my profile? I will send you some reading material to hep you with your CPO. CPO is just an operators license but it's a start no one should laugh at you for wanting to better yourself and a CPO will at least allow you to run the pool in my state at least but as with any other trade you can keep going and going with certificates and training. You got to start somewhere and starting with the basics are fine as long as you don't stop there.

There are a miriad of issues you must be ready for if you embark down the pool slide.
Good Luck.
