My neighbor wants to give me his pool

Is that a bad idea for me to try and move myself? Should I just pay a pool company to move it? do they even do that? need pro. advice its an above ground pool

Wouldn't it be easier to un-chock the wheels on your prospective homes and swap them instead?

Sorry I couldn't resist

...and now you know why your first question was so stupid.

If you offer some decent info, we won't have to pull teeth to give you coherent answers.

As a contractor you should know this.

Too bad. I was envisioning a CNN story about how you tried to move a Olympic size pool and caved in 3/4 of the block

You know that your neighbor is trying to give it away because he doesn't want to haul it to the dump, right?

...and then start whining like a 7yr old girl that skinned her knee when it's revealed that you are clueless.

here are some tips to help get you through life:
- the big yellow one is the sun
- underwear first, then pants.

I suggest you print that list and tape it to the mirror in the bathroom.

Nope, not-a-pool-man, I'm a Plumber and I've never had the honor of being called a smart ass...it's always dumb ass or Sir.

Hey, when you move that above-ground can, are we invited to the pool party?

Hey Tileguy,

I'm not bashin, but consider these:

Why is your neighbor "giving" you the pool. (Hint: If it's too good to be true, most likely it is)

If the pool guys aren't answering, most likely they don't HAVE an answer.

Personally, I'm a kind of guy that's ready to jump into anything (pool pun intended) but even I wouldn't try to move a pool by my idiot self unless it was a 4' dia. kiddie pool.

Hire a pro to look at it and make sure it's worth the price and aggravation, and then ask them what would it entail to move, set up, etc etc.

no, don't waste your time & efforts.
also, no real pool company is going to move a pool. (abovegrounds are disposable items, worthless for service & repair work.)
