How To Learn To Install Guinte Pools?

Hello all, this is my first post on this forum. We are a medium size landscape design/build firm, in Mississippi. We have installed a fair amount of fiberglass pools, but have be approached several times to install gunite, but have walked away from them. I know installing guinte has to be an art in itself, but if I wanted to learn the trade, what would ya'll recommend we as a company do, or I as a business owner do to learn. Thought about hiring a trained professional in house and learning from him..etc. I really would like any input you could give me in trying to learn this side of the pool industry. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Step 1: Hire 20 illegal mexicans. They're specially bred for this sort of work.

Re: How To Learn To Install Guinte Pools?

Troland its great to have another D/B company on this forum! I am almost in the same spot as you.

I am planning on subbing out gunite pools completly for a few years. Then once i can sell enought of them, i will bring on a experience pool builder.

I think the best bet is to hire someone who knows what they are doing. Each different trade that goes into a great landscape has so many different things you need to know. Its hard to be a expert at everything.

you are right on that....hardscape seems to be my niche so I want to learn..but i know baby steps are the key with gunite. My business partner is more of a plant material expert. Thanks for the input, I will end up doing the same as you...kinda learn as I go, and know what to look for in a good in house guy.
