Front Yard Pool?

Looked at a job today. 18,000 sqft house. The only real place to put a pool is in the front lawn. I could squeeze it into the back, but they want it in the front. Ok what ever.

My idea is to make it some kind of symetical shap and put a big fountain in it. I guess i am trying to make it look like a 800 sq feet fountain.

How would you design this? There will be a ton of planting along the road so privacy is no a issue.

Matt

Re: Front Yard Pool?

Ruskent, I am a lake guy, not a pool guy, but I have a couple of questions. How would the fountain (large) get water from the pool without sucking swimmers into the intake? Are they in their right mind for putting a pool in the front yard?

Re: Front Yard Pool?

Poolman- The variance is going to be for putting the pool closer to the road then the house correct?

Whats funny is, that the house is so big, but the lot really is not. Lots of elevation changes.

Cole- I'll get some pics next time i am at the property, should be later this week. I'll email you the pics.. don't want to post them on the public board.

House is insane. Ton of steel in the house. Elevated decks all over the place with pored concrete. Balconies all over the place. 2K sq ft front porch.

I am working on the website.. Takes some time to get it all done. Looks like you finally got your up. Looks good.

Once you get the pics, send me a pm and I will send over my email address.

My site is still a work in progress.

Re: Front Yard Pool?

As long as the customer knows the various restrictions...septic, well, setbacks...(either you fill them in or they know already from building the house) just listen to what they want and give it to them, guiding them along the way.

If they want a fountain look great give it to them. If they don't want a fountain look then give them other options...rectangular, geometric, freeform, with a spa or not, with a waterfall or not, vanishing edge, auto cover, so on. By laying out the options they will pick what they want and in the end be happy with you...and refer you to there friends.
