Concrete Damage

ok pool guys second year pool owner please forgive my ignorance! thanks in advance ! pool installed in 1971,free form beauty pool(gunite, plaster) the sidewalk around the pool has lifted slightly(inch or so) therefore making gap in spots around pool. is this bad should i replace side walk or chaulk the gap? is the sidewalk called the coping? can i simply replace tile around top edge of pool as they are wearing out?. also have in wall strainer wear sidewalk has lifted can this be busted out and repaired? i am sure i have more questions but i will wait for your replies. o one more what would be directly under the sidewalk? i mean generally speaking i am sure we can not be certain. once again thank you all!

None of the above-hire a pool professional.
is the sidewalk called the coping? No, it's call decking. can i simply replace tile around top edge of pool as they are wearing out?.No again-the gunite/shotgrete/blocks are separating from the pool structure. also have in wall strainer (pool skimmer?) wear sidewalk has lifted can this be busted out and repaired? Jackhammer out and proceed with caution. i am sure i have more questions but i will wait for your replies. o one more what would be directly under the sidewalk? Dirt, plumbing, gas line(s),electrical line(s) possibly and of course more dirt. i mean generally speaking i am sure we can not be certain. once again thank you all!
More details with pic's would do this thread wonders...

This is what the 'bond beam' looks like around the swimming pool.
