Bird Cage Question

You enclosure guys,
I have a question that I will be needing to know how to do it kind thing.
I have done some screen enclosures, no roofs, just entry ways etc. How do you screen a roof? I just can't seem to figure that out. Especially if there is a pool under it. 2" beam is not something I can walk
I will be build a bird cage Lanai for our home and will need to do the roof, no pool.
Thanks

Re: Bird Cage Question

OH a screened enclosure

LOL

i never gave this thread the time of day cuz I saw the word "bird cage" and so I immediately dismissed it

if anything, it is a "mosquito cage" ---

I spent some time in Florida and I actually almost got into doing those. They're like fencing elsewhere; everyone's gotta have em - but there were some companies offering really good deals

I believe now there is a huge demand ... everytime a hurricane comes through --- it damages them.

It's a good thing to get into down there.

Re: Bird Cage Question

The truth of the matter is that it is a little more complicated than it seems. Typical framing is done "stick". The roof of the pool enclosure is is " pre-fabricated" on the ground, including screening. The roof is put up in sections and the only reason that you have to climb up on the roof is to "stitch" the SMB (self-mating beams) together. The great part about that is the screen is already in place. The screen will actually hold you if necessary and you can walk the 2" beam and place your hands down on the screen to balance yourself inbetween the purlins.

I really hope that helps you. If not, I am really needing some work!
