Is It Possible To Cut Cultured Marble Bath Tops?


I have a customer that we are finishing his bathroom and the top only has a 1/16" clearance. what could i cut off a 1/4" with? any help would be appreciated!!

Your circular saw with a normal carbide tipped blade.

Go slow or backwards to avoide possible blowout. A belt sander will work also, but 1/4" will take a little while. The stuff is pretty easy to work with. Wear a dust mask.

Like send_it said. It's mostly polyester and marble dust. The marble dust is what kills tools/sandpaper.

hey guys thanks for your help. I have been told once before about a circular saw but wasnt for sure and wanted to double check before I screw up a top and have to buy a new one. Take care.

I just did one last week with some advice from the guys on this site. I used a belt sander with a 50 grit belt. I had to scribe it to the wall on a remodel. worked great.
