Customer wants me to use Liquid Nail Construction Adhesive to apply 4" wide plastic trim around outside edge of bathtub surround. Does not want it nailed to studs. Have never used Liquid Nail. Has anyone applied plastic trim using this adhesive ?

Re: Fes

If you are going to use adhesive,
you have to use one that is compatible
with the specific plastic.
Abs, pvc,.....
Find out what it is, and read the
specs on the adhesive.

Re: Fes

Thank you for your post. I suspect it could be PVC, white color. Will read the package label and see if it states the base material. It is plastic extruded bead board. Measures approx. 5 1/2" x 8', comes in package of 3 pieces. Could probably use Contact Cement but that does not allow for any adjustment(s) once the contact is made with the drywall where liquid nail would. Going to try liquid nail on small piece to see what happens. I will post back and let you all know the result.

Liquid nails "heavy duty" is water base and is fine on all plastics but you need to silicone all the way around cause its a wet enviroment. Liquid nails "projects" is oil base poly.
