Design Opinion
I am doing the hidden dishwasher thing, three panel face,(outsourced), fluted pilaster flanking with hidden knife rack and spice rack. The problem, in attempting to make it look like a three drawer chest i need to put handles on each of the three simulated drawer faces. Panel material is 3/8th's, cant countersink the screw so it does not keep the panel from securing tightly against the dishwasher door. Also the pull point to open the door is not 5 or 6 inches down from the top(not great leverage). i could easily place the handle up high, in the top rail, but there goes the chest of drawer illusion. Had i built the panel myself, i could have beefed up the panel at least----any ideas? thanks

Re: Design Opinion
I don't think it will look horrible with the pulls mounted on rails, but obviously not as nice as in the panel, especially if the rest of the kitchen has the pulls mounted differently....or will they?

Re: Design Opinion
any room to add a "backer" panel to the existing one, or is the fit too tight?

Re: Design Opinion
Laminate something to the back of the panel making it thicker.

Re: Design OpinionGood question, my original design called for some kind of elastic band secured across the front. The tolerances are so tight that when the unit is closed there is 1/16th of space left. As we operate it, the spices are suprisingly staying in place (so Far). If they start to move, i will add the elastic band. GMOD.

Re: Design Opinion
