Bathtub skirt

I need to build a painted wood bathtub skirt, I know this isn't a great idea. What would the best products to use in wet atmosphere be?

bathtub skirt

Thanks RBS. I'm actually a sider by trade ( skirt is for my wifes whirl pool tub). I can't believe cement didn't even occur to me. I'm new as of today on this site, and after reading some of the other blogs I'd like to thank you for taking it easy on me for asking a dumb question.

If you're really concerned with the wet area issue look into marine grade plywood for starters.

Personally I think the priming and the paint choice will effect the longevity more than anything.

Or if you're like RBS and want it bullet proof, maybe look into cinder blocks.

You could build a nice panel
wainscot out of Azek panel
and 1X material.
100% rot proof.
