Is 10 1/2" Enough?![]() For an over hang on an island top! My tile is sort of dictating how big the top is so that I don't have cuts on the outside edge. I looked through some pic's of kitchens on this site and it looks like some of them are not quite a foot deep. Is there a general rule of thumb for this? Is 10 1/2" enough?

Yes it is enough for a stool and a cup of coffee. 12'' is prefered but 10 1/2'' works fine

Re: Is 10 1/2" Enough?
If my design isn't constrained by anything I go 12" minimum, but I don't think 10 1/2 is horrible or anything, it's enough room to get a tall person's knees under if not thier toes.

Re: Is 10 1/2" Enough?
As already said, it'll work, not preferred though. I've had to do them with as little as 8" before, just because of the particular situation
