Who Still Uses This Stuff?

When do you use galvanized diamond lath on your tiling jobs. It seems to be a lost art here, I've torn alot of it out of older floors but never use it putting in the new floors. Nowadays the substrate is so advanced compared to the old days. I see the sheets at H. Depot but the pile does't seem to go down

home depot has extreamly good stockers. they restock to within 2 to 1 peices of origional pile :P joking.

when i took a 6 month stint in ontario i was around alot of italian tile setters and they still use it strictly. they turned up there noses at my american hardibacker ways :P one nice thing i noted was they only needed hand snips to put it in. wich made for fastness

It's used for all mud jobs, 1 1/4" thick, using it under thinset as in a scratch coat is a NO NO.

Also used over the liner on the curb, then mudded over, used on mud walls as well.
