Re: What Tile Project Are You Working On?

We purchased this piano just because we thought it looked cool and we didnt have a lot of furniture. That was 20 years ago. First child took lessons 10 years later and it played like crap. Someone suggested I turn it into a bar. I was not a big drinker, so I thought a fireplace might be cool. Had to search for a while to find a unit that fit well. Farted around for a year between taking the piano apart, hooking up gas and electric, inserting unit, and doing the tile.

Yes. You need 15 posts before you can insert a link or photo.

Re: What Tile Project Are You Working On?

Sorry about the bad pics. I had to use my phone because it wont upload pics from my cam. Here is some pics from a job I just finished, its a new 18x18 porcelain tile done with ink jet printing and I used chair rail and a listillo to finish the edges (no bullnose yet). On the floor I cut the 18's in quarters so I could do a pin wheel. I have more pics of this job I will try to put up.

I love it when they come up this easy. 1/2" cbu, no thinset under, clipped head nails, mastic under the tile. Oh, and 5/8" subfloor.

Funny thing is, this had been down for about five years, nary a crack inna grout.

Ah, this is what went in it's place, and throughout the dining room, foyer, and hallway. I wasn't able to get a finished pic, the carpet guys were there when I went back to install the shoe moulding, and they had crap everywhere.

18x18 porcelain called, Oxido Cobre.

Oh and, not my idea to bury the baseboard.

OK, you said!

My favorite oil....Schaeffer Supreme 9000. The stuff's so good, I only need 5W40.

The oil I usually end up buying....Rotella 15w40 summer, 10w30 winter.

Re: What Tile Project Are You Working On?

Thanks guys.

Yep, very nice tile, and unique. Directional, and had a metallic finish on it.
