Slip Sheet?

Hi
A tile guy I am not! But I am finishing off my own basement (with a multi-year scheduel) and am putting a half bath in. I would like to tile the floor and since it is my own house was going to tackel it myself. Issue is there is a stress crack in the concrete floor running right through the middle of the room. Back when I use to do a lot of gas station C-Store renovations we hired a lot of tile guys and I remember some of them talking about "slip sheets" to keep the tile from cracking? Do I have the right term? If so what is a slip sheet and how is it used?
Thanks Spot

Re: Slip Sheet?

A slip sheet is used for isolating a mud job from the substrate below, what you need is a crack isoaltion membrane over that floor, these can be tiled directly over, these are 2 that I use.
