Schluter All Set

Did some tiling with this. It's modified, but approved over and under Ditra and Kerdi with all surfaces. It's messy compared to Bostik Ditra set. It always seems to fall or fling off the trowel. But it is pretty convenient to not need to mix both types to be warranty compliant.

12 hours to grout is also nice, and it comes in one of the best bags of any grout: plastic with an extra 6" folded over so it's easy to open, pour, and reseal.

Re: Schluter All Set

Considering this for my current job.

Any other thoughts on this?

What size tile did you set?

Any glass tile?

12x24, 24x24, 6" hex, 2.5x9. No glass. But it seems to have a hell of a strong bond. I'd think it'd work good with glass.

Re: Schluter All Set

I had a spacer fall out on the 2.5x9 wall tile and I had to demo my own work after a couple days of setting. It took some doing to break it apart. Over kerdi.

Re: Schluter All Set

My tile supplier changed thinsets, yet again. Now they have Ardex. Used Ardex X5 today. They claim Ardex will honor Schluters warranty. It's easier to use than schluter all set.

I wish I could get Ardex easily.

This was my first time using it. Seems like as good as it gets. Creamy, no gritty aggregate but wall tiles didn't move, grout at 8am if you finished setting at 5pm. No slake time, actually specs you can mix it at higher speed.

Re: Schluter All Set

I picked up the All-Set today. I'll see how it works.

I like Mapie products, can't get them around here anymore.
