New Ridgid wet saw
Anybody checked it out yet? I just saw it yesterday in big orange. Seemed very well built and has a ton of features. Plunges, 22.5 and 45 bevels, adjustable laser, stainless hardline water fittings. 18" on a diagonal and iirc rips 24s. Under $700 with stand.....I think I just might pick this one up.

Funny I was just coming in here to post the very same question.
I've used the dewalt and love it. Hands down the best overall tile saw I've ever used. I was about to buy one and saw the rigid at depot also and wondered if it's as good as the Dewalt.
Anyone used the Rigid? Has anyone used both? Pros and cons?
Thanks,
Wack

I have the DeWalt, don't have anything bad to say about it so far. Have had it over 2 years, probably done 10 - 12 tile jobs with it, performed flawlessly. I love the added pans for water collection, makes cutting larger tile so much neater now. The plunge feature is great for cutting electrical box openings in the middle of a tile.
I guess if I could change one thing, I would make the ruler a little more accurate and easier to read.

Keep em comin I need to pick up another saw very soon. So far from what I have read over at JB's forum the Dewalt has better water control, is a lot lighter, and has a better stand. The Ridgid has an awesome cart, quiet motor and a great laser. I wonder what the motor differences are? The Dewalt is about $300 more (with the stand) just wondering if its worth it (over the Ridgid)?

Ridgid saw
I just got the 10 in. Ridgid wet saw and I love it. Ive used the Dewalt and I think they are real close, except that the ridgid is 300$ cheaper. I like that is has a laser and a led light, the only thing I miss is that the dewalt has the side pan to catch water, where the ridgid has one only in the back, the table is smooth, it cut nice, and the stand folds to a dolly for the saw. I feel I made a good purchase.

I bought the ridgid about two months ago and have nothing bad to say about it. I have used the mk saws before and the ridgid is far better. Love the laser, you wouldn't believe how nice it is till you use it. The stand is nice. The table glides smoothly. plenty of power. I have done about 6 jobs with it and have no complaints. Well worth the money in my opinion.

did you have to calibrate that ridgid saw? mine is cutting just a hair off, and I just hate messing with it this early.

i won't buy any HD ridgid tools anymore. I've had several they all broke like all tools. BUT nobody will work on them because they are a pain in the ars to get parts for. I haven't seen this tool yet but look for any crappy plastic parts that wear out. my HD ridgid portable table saw was great until the plastic differential stripped out. when you raise and lower blade its done by plastic grooved pieces. Ordered the parts online but nobody would install. its under warranty but they wanted me to ship it and pay for the shipping. I fix most of my tools myself. Tried fixing this one and the casting broke while trying to remove guide rod. removed all the aluminum parts and pitched the rest. bought the mini dewalt table saw for now.

tileguy, i did make a small adjustment. wasn't that hard, it was only off a little but i adjusted it. I have bought other ridgid tools recently, one being a 15 ga finish nailer, it has a lifetime warrenty and there is a wood workers depot 15 minutes away that will service ridgid tools. So far am impressed with their tools.

I'm really tempted to go get this saw but I was really hoping some more people with experience with both saws would show up. I've used that dewalt a bunch of times and love it. If the Rigids close then I'd be happy but I can get a good deal on the dewalt right now. $750 for the Dewalt with the stand. Brand new, Not refurbished.

I talked to my DeWalt rep today and asked him about their tile saw versus the Rigid one. He (as expected) said that theirs was better but couldn't really explain why. He said the Rigid one is built in China or Mexico (didn't say where the DeWalt one is manufactured) and sited the missing third tray for water. He did say that they basically reverse engineered their saw and that it has the DeWalt brass concerned which tells me that it's probably a good saw.
I found out something I didn't know. The company that owns Rigid also owns Milwaukee, Ryobi and one other brand as well. I can't remember which one.
I think I'm going to get one and if I don't like it I'll take it back and get the DeWalt.

Got one of the Rigid saws and did our first job with it today.
I gotta say that I felt like I was going to like the DeWalt better because I love that saw but I think I might like the Rigid better.
The laser is bright and adjustable so you know it's always aligned and it even has a bright LED flash light to really see your cut. The stand is way nicer than the DeWalt. It folds up into a hand truck and it looks like you could leave the saw attached. You can empty the water tray without removing the saw also.
It's pretty quiet and seems high quality. We've got a few more jobs to do with it soon so I'll let you know my longer term impression later.

Thanks for the update Wack, I'm ready to pull the trigger any day now. I have been waiting for some actual comparisons to the Dewalt. The two biggest complaints I keep hearing are the weight and lack of water control. I have a helper so the weight thing doesn't bother me. I'm sure I can rig up something for better water control if the actual purpose of the saw (cutting tile) is better than the Dewalt. The light and laser sound like nice features.

I've had trouble with the water control on the dewalt and the only thing I've found that fixes it is to run lots of water through it. So after I would get done with it I'd clean out the water, put fresh water in and run the saw for a half hour or so.
The Rigids water nozzles are a little higher up inside the saw. It takes it a second or two once you turn it on for the water to really start flowing but it seems to work good once it's going.
It sprays about as much water around on the ground as the dewalt also.
I do miss the side tray but the positives of the Rigid plus the much lower price tag makes me happy with this purchase, at least so far.

I have found that the water drips out the back off the saw when it runs down off the plastic shield on the back. I have watched it happen while cutting. Some day when i have more time i will try to see exactly where it is coming from and either dirict the water back into the pan or make a water catch that will drain into a pail.

I have the same problem water runs between the pan i have to put a bucket underneath, and the only other thing I have found is the tile doesn't stay stuck to the rubber table while cutting as good as the dewalt, but I haven't used the dewalt in about a year. Anyone else noticed that?

i haven't seen that saw in person, but it looks ok to me. I have the MK 101pro which doesn't tilt but has all the slide attachments to give you 45 deg angles. i like the saw. sure some water ends up on the ground but big deal. it's a wetsaw. you can't expect to set them up inside a house that is finished and ready for tile and not get water on the floor. i either set mine up on a tarp. or i cut outside. I have zero complaints on the MK saw other than its heavy. It should last me a lifetime. Let me know if you get the rigid one. the only thing i'm looking to buy is a smaller lighter saw for doing smaller job with small tile where i don't feel like lugging the big mk around.

I have used the mk101 pro and went to HD to buy one and ended up coming home with the ridgid. HD had three 101pros on clearence for 500 bucks and usually you can talk them down a little. I saw the new ridgid and decided to try it since i have had great luck with their other tools and the saw has a lot to offer the mk didn't. And it came with a nice stand. I have no regreats about getting the ridgid over the mk, they are both great saws but i am glad i chose the one i did. Everybody has their personal favorite!
