Leveling tile floor
Hi guys,
I am a painter by trade, but was planning on ripping up my bathroom floor - its a small bathroom floor (excluding tub) 6'x4. The problem is that my house is old - built in the 1880s - and the bathroom floor has a slight wave to it. The tile on the floor now is ceramic 1inch tile. I was planning on replacing it with 4 or 6 inch tile. But, I figured I would run into problems due to the wave. So, I considered a self-leveling product from Durock (multi use self-leveling floor underlayment). I didnt know if any of you guys used this and what you thought. From everything I have read, you are supposed to apply this to the subfloor. But, I was wondering if I could apply it over the existing tile? Any help would be appreciated.
