Lol guess what guys the fact of the matter is all of you have something to say but none of you seem to understand that what you think means nothing, your not the customer, your not the bank teller, and your not seeing it from the same perspective I am. I will give it to you, normally I wouldn't go looking for a project of this complexity, I agree get the basics of tiling down first then aim higher, I totally agree but the Job came to me and presented an opportunity to make some good money, my little girl just turned 1 last month during which life was a little rough, slow season, so for her sake and her sake only I took the job and was successful so given the opportunity experience or no experience skills or no skills, when it comes to her I went above and beyond for my family, faced a hell of a challenge head on and believed in myself enough to do and do it right so that's why I don't give a *** what y'all got to say and the biggest reason you guys can't tell me **** cause not one of you, no matter the reason, has done this for his first tile job, skills must be present I'd say but really more of believing in my oself and doing whatever I have to to ensure my baby's never gotta worry about her dad doing anything to take care of his family. So when y'all step up to a challenge like this and nail it on functionality, looks, and customer satisfaction all the above then maybe I'll entertain your negativity. If you don't like what I got to say then shut the *** up

Since I am fairly certain the backstory is true -

All of that is even more of a reason to stop being so egotistical and stubborn. You are not good at tiling and your methods are not new or the best. You used off the shelf crap from a big box and the final product leaves a lot to be desired.

You need to get legal and learn how to do things right. Stay out of trouble for not having a registered business or contractor's license. Take everything you were told here and keep it with you. This should be your career. When that shower fails, or the next thing breaks, who are they coming after? You, and you better hope you have the money to pay them.

Use your college education and learn how to type, spell and hold a conversation.

USE THE ENTER KEY.

If you want t provide for your daughter, to the best of your ability, you are going to have to calm down and realize you are not the best. You are far from it. Trust me, this site has taught me tons, I am charging more per hour than I used to make a day. Things are wonderful and I am sitting in my office typing this. Something I did not even realize was possible a few years ago and I attribute it largely to this site.

This site is an invaluable source of great information. Don't mess it up and let this be how it ends. You will learn more here than anywhere else. The amount of knowledge, experience and wisdom is unbelievable.

Above all else, you will be working all the time trying to make ends meet with your current mentality. You should want to get to the point where vacation is easy to take, nights and weekends can be free and you can charge for estimates. You will be so much happier. The only way to do that is to change.

It's all up to you.

Sorry things have been rough.
Things are rough all over.

What's going to happen IF that shower fails in a couple years and the repair has to come out of your pocket, to be fixed by someone with real skills, at their rate?
Won't matter if times are tough then...
Folks gotta get paid, right?

Dude calm down. I'm probably younger than you but have been in business longer than you and know 12k isn't anything. I do that much business most days.

There is a lot to learn from this site. There are guys who could teach you things you didn't know could be possible making you the most wanted tiling guy in your area. No one likes hearing their work looks poor. Learn what you can do better every job and become the best.

How old are you anyway?
