I'm a hater.

I started working with Mapei products now. And I have to say, they are really, really good.

I'll using urethane grout on my next backsplash come Monday..

Started out following the manufacturer's instructions to the letter. Used two 5gal buckets of water for cleaning the sponges and microfiber. They say to do a first pass with a "moderately" damp sponge in a circular motion to remove excess grout then wipe on the diagonal with a "semi-wet" sponge to remove residue.

In reality what I had to do was all of the above, wait a few minutes and give it another pass with a damp sponge followed by an almost dry microfiber. Wait a few more minutes and hit it with a damp microfiber. So we're talking five passes to get grout off glass tile. I had a decent pattern down by the end of the backsplash but it still felt like a bit more work than urethane or cementitious.

Ethan,

Here's what I was told. Damp white scrubby to break up surface residue. Damp microfiber. Polish with dry microfiber. Open beer, step back, admire work.

If custom was giving out complimentary beer I'd definately try it.

Maybe polishing with a dry cloth was the missing step for me. I was expecting it to be more like a urethane so there was no way in hell I was going to let it skin over to find out.

Re: Fusion Pro

So this is the review , when people google this will be the result.

Fusion grout by customs is a new product that looks ok but takes many , too many steps to clean up.

Not good
