Cutting Granite Tiles

I've done numerous tile jobs, but have never used granite tiles before. I'm doing a job that will have 12x12 verde labrador granite tiles on the floor, and i don't know what to expect when cutting them. Any special precautions???

Of course I will be using a good wet saw.

Re: Cutting Granite Tiles

And get yourself something to mark your cuts with

A sharpie works, when your tile is dry.

Re: Cutting Granite Tiles

I like to use blue painters tape when marking granite, it help to see the line, it also prevents chipping at the ends of the cut, which can happen even when using the best of wet saws with the best of blades. That's not to say that you don't need both of those. You should use a good wet saw with a strong engine. MK makes a good wet saw. They also make good baldes, the Hot-Dog blade works fairly well for a decent price also.

Re: Cutting Granite Tiles

I wouldn't be using a Sharpie on any natural stone, thats' not a good idea.
