I'm looking for the best way to cut 48" plank style tile. I know i can use my Dewalt, I've used it many times on 36' plank style, but it kind of a pain. Is there a tile table saw that would be worth investing in that would work? I've never had one of them.
thanks. mike
A good rail saw would be the best but I don't really want to put out two grand. I am a general contractor, specializing in remodeling, but it seems i have become the tile guy for our area.
The great white tile saw was mentioned in another thread as well as the Ridgid table saw tile saw. Both would probably do well for that and don't break the bank.
You only need it for rips if the tile snaps well. For rips, a grinder would work, too. Any wet saw with a strong motor mounted under the table. Rail saw as mentioned.
Just recently I had a 10" by 60" plank job. Thought about the 61" Monolit, but didn't pull the trigger. Twas only 1400sq.ft and so-so money. Ended up using my old Jepson (12 amp version) for the wall rips, which is probably comparable to the linked model. The downside is you'd need to be outside or have a bulletproof wet area set-up inside.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
