Transformer Situation

Customer has 2 recpticles located on either side of the entryway of the home. The entryway is set back about 6 or7 foot to form an alcove. to get the transformer out of the entry and mount to the face of the home where it can be concealed by the landscape will require around 7' of wire lead. None of the transformers I use are available with pig tails over 6'. How do you handle this situation?

P.S. Have any of you heard of "Alliance"?

Once again I appreciate all ya'lls help,

Steve,
This is something I see alot of also. Obviously you should not mess with the cord on the transformer so an alternitive is needed. Any other outlets around either side of house that will work? Is mounting it in the garage an option? Last idea ...is it possible to add an outlet off either outlet by the entryway or add one outside thru garage wall. Check with an electrician on those possibilities. Some electricians are starting to mount outlets around front corners and or near where utilities lines enter the house. Good Luck!

What about just adding another plant to hide the transformer?? You will not find a UL transformer with a longer cord than 6' so move the transformer closer to the outlet.

Joey D can tell you all about Alliance. He loves them NOT!!

Steve, Are the front outlets above concrete sidewalk or entryway or is it a planting bed?
Paul, I took it as he needed to get the transformer out of the entryway. If not your idea is the best. Your the man! Joey D is gonna kick your a$$
Which is it Steve?

Yes the outlets are recessed in the brick and above the concrete entryway. The enrtyway is way to narrow to mount the T/F on the same wall as the outlet. I may be able to get the T/F out of the entryway and around the corner with the 6' pigtail. That would put it directly over a planting bed.

I am not familiar w/ Joey D, but I will wager he is associated with Unique Lighting. Just a guess.

thanks,

Sorry Steve that Joey D thing was directed at Paul since he was razzin him about Alliance.
If you move the transformer around the corner but have it plugged in inside the entryway wont that look kinda strange? I'm just trying to visualize it.

klkannders,

Yes,.....it would look strange execpt for the fact that there are 2 of those recepticles on either side of the entryway and the other recpticle has 2 cords coming out of it. So,.......it may just sort of blend in......??
