And LEAVE IT AT THAT!
Yeah and after that if you don't have anything constructive to add just don't post.

I do alot of underground low-voltage splices for control/communication/sound and I use a souldering gun with rosin core, then screw a nut on it and fill with silicone, then wrap with electrical tape. If its a big splice that my butaine iron can't handle then I break out the Triton Clamp Iron, it will do up to two aught.

Also, what is the best way to seal the connection? I've been told to use wire nuts with silicone seal, or grease caps, or heat shrink filled with dielectric grease. Any suggestions?
Hi Braphael,

I have done quite a bit of low voltage lighting jobs that range from 3k to 40k an what I use is Marine grade Tin Coated wire an hub set up and I use solder pot 150 watt and if you make nice clean joints twisted then dip them in pot it's not cumming apart , then use the blue weather proof wire nuts with the oxide within them tighten down good with linesmen pliers then last thing you could use good electrical rubber tape or heat shrink about a 4 inch long piece to seal the wire nut an part of the wire below the joint,I have never had a call back due to loose or bad connections.
