**MY Lighting NEEDS HELP**
I just designed a concept drawing for a customer. I need help on the lightin. I'm not an expert on lights. There will be 8 lights under the cap on the upper wall, 8 lights on the ground for the lower wall and lights on the column.
any suggestion for brands and what lights to use?

Re: **MY Lighting NEEDS HELP**
You will need to install conduit inside the wall for the wires. You might want to consult an electrician to lay them out.
Please, for the love of God, DO NOT under any circumstances use plumbing fittings in the conduit!!!!!!! Wires need more room to turn a 90 deg angle then water! I have seen this far too many times. Use electrical 90s, 45s, etc. They are constucted with the proper sweep.

Re: **MY Lighting NEEDS HELP**
I will respond to the email that you sent to me, but for the sake of this forum, I would have to ask a few questions. First, are there flower beds along the wall or does the turf come all the way to the wall? What color is the rock or block that is being used? Is it one sided or two sided? Is this commercial or residential? These questions will help me answer your question. By knowing about the beds or lack of, I will know what kind of fixture I can use from the ground up. Knowing the color will help me determine the wattage of the lamps needed. Knowing whether the wall is one or two sided tells me if you need to light both sides or just one and it tells me how we can run the conduit. If it's a commercial job, like a development entry, we would need to make it brighter than if it were a residence.

Re: **MY Lighting NEEDS HELP**
I applologize for not keeping up with the forum.
I looked at your drawing and I would use 25 watt bulbs in your post lights and all well lights for several reasons. 1. you won't see the fixture as much and you can control glare (your worst enemy) 2. up lighting will expose the cap of the wall as well as the texture. 3. the ambient light produced will help with the overall light 4. Well lights are simple to install 5. the only draw back is the plantings might block the beam spread. as Paul said, there are other factors that must be taken into consideration, but for the raw drawning, that would be my first choice. |

Re: **MY Lighting NEEDS HELP**
I updated the drawing and I took Paul's advice. Thanks for your help.
I need to know 1 more thing - What transformer should I get? The top wall has - (7) 7 watt dome lights under the cap. Below the bottom wall (5) Kichler - 15396AZT 35 watts each Column (4) Kichler - 15384AZT20L 20 watts each |
