Low Voltage Uplighting - Gables

What is the best type of lighting lens etc. to uplight the front of a two story house with 3 gables. It is an L shaped design with the widths of each gable varying from 15, 18, and 26ft. The heights are 15ft, 15ft, and 18ft for the center.

I want to cast up to the soffit area as to show off the freeze board work and other details. I have used lights like this in the past but I wondered what the preferred professional method would be. Also in doing this I have never accented the shrubbery other than the shadows and illumination created by the uplights situated at the base of the houses.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Low Voltage Uplighting - Gables

hey hardibuilt, I use kichler 15384azt fixtures for lighting the front of homes. Put lights on the corners and between or under windows evenly across the front of the house. If you are worried about glare anywhere use a honeycomb louver. Place the lights about a foot off the house. You can also aim lights at trees and cast shadows on any dark spot or high into the eves. If you would like help laying out your system post some pics and I can give you some real advice.

let me know.
