Installation Processes--How Do You Sequence Your Jobs?

I would like to see how any of you sequence your installation processes. Is there a certain pattern of events that your prefer to follow? For example, do you follow a pattern like this or another: flag your job first, excavate, pull wire, place fixtures, make connections, mount & tie-in transformers, test, bury, and perform adjustments?

Here are a couple of added questions: 1) Do you bury prior to final adjustments? 2) Do you do night adjustments? 3) Do you get the homeowner involved prior to final burying in case of additions to the system? Any other input would be interesting.

Re: Installation Processes--How Do You Sequence Your Jobs?

I am new this site but I would like to ask what others do also as well as let you know what I do.

I typically use CAST Lighting fixtures, wire, transformers, and accessories. I would say about 90% of the time. I found that at first although said to be an easier wiring system, took longer to install. After sometime I have my process down.

First - mount and test transformer.
install remote photo cell if needed.
Second - place fixtures around property
install fixtures where necessary
Third - pull wire runs to spider
splice and wire connections at spider
Fourth - splice and wire runs into transformer
test voltage and document
Fith - burry wires

There is more to it but that is the plan I go by. Anybody else?

Re: Installation Processes--How Do You Sequence Your Jobs?

Every installation is a little different but here is the rundown (most of the time). 1. Install and check transformer. 2. Place fixtures. 3. Pull wire and make connections. 4. Check voltages on everything and make voltage adjustments. 5. Seal all connections. 6. Cover most of the lines, leaving plenty of room to move fixtures. 7. Make night adjustments. 8. Go home and have a good stiff drink. 9. Come in the next day and finish covering all lines and make the job site beautiful. 10. Collect my hard earned money.
