Sod And Hydroseed

Just had a few questions trying to get a rough idea. Wondering what people are charging for a square yard of sod installed and square yard of hydroseed.

We just put out a bid to drop seed, and straw 283,000 square yards.. now we got asked to do 2467 square yards of sod, never done anything that big thats for sure. It should be interesting.

hydroseeding for a turf lawn (not erosion control) $0.10/sq ft
sod should run $3.75-$4.00/yard installed (fescue and $1.75/yard cost)

erosion control $1,400-$1,500/acre (43,560 sq ft) depending on if tacked or not. includes seed, fert, lime, straw, one pass to loosen no grading.

It's been 10 years since I've seen anything even approaching those #'s around here.

thats some serious square yardage. wed probably do the straw and tack job from anywhere 229,000 to 280,170... but theres a lot of factors into the price as well. prepwork, water access, prevailing rate? the sod forget about it.. people will lay it down for practically free here in NJ

That's topping our market out here. We charge for all prep work this only the application of sod or hydroseed. a turn key seeding job for a new home is $3500-$4000 depending on several variables (including payment history of customer)

What would you guys charge to seed a lawn. Just to lime, fertilize, seed and blow straw on it ?

Re: Sod And Hydroseed

We won't do it without the prep work, if I did $0.065/sq ft (6.5 cent)
14 lb fescue per 1000
250 lb 18-24-12
2000 lb lime

the hydroseeding prices dont include lime
