?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
I found a formula for calculating on a flat surface.
If you are building up a sloped hill, where the number of rows will decrease...how do you calculate the number of blocks for that? More specifically, my wall will be 56" high at the bottom. The foundation will be dug down 12" or so, so my total height will only be 4'. The height of the wall will stay level 16' back up the slope. But where there will be 7 rows of 8" high blocks at the bottom, it will gradually decrease to 1 row of 1 block at the top. And on that note, is there a 8" mortarless SRV that is engineered for that height. The only specs I have found so far were on the Keystone Legacy. They said it is not recommended for over 3' high. So I'm assuming I would need an 8".

Re: ?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
Calculate it in terms of face SqFt.
Pavestone makes a wall that will work at that height; several, in fact, that are smaller sized. |

Re: ?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
Ok thanks. The nearest Pavestone dealer to me happens to be Wal Mart. Suprise, suprise. (Take it EZ my friends, I will shop around)
Regarding the "face sq. ft", How do you get that number on a sloped hill? Thanks |

Re: ?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
The top of the wall is level, and one end goes to zero, right? So if you were to take the length times the height of the other, deep end and divide that by 2 it will give the face square feet.

Re: ?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
Thanks again. Just CMA. On another note, I just met with a couple who had their landscape contractor vanish on them. After he was paid in full of course. Can you please tell me what they intended to do with this...

Re: ?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
That would be a stub out for a drain behind the wall. If he had finished the job, after final grading, he would have put a drain box in.

Re: ?? Retaining Wall Formulas??
well if the 4 inch pipe goes to the end of the yard to drain off water then you need optional 6" 12" basin its a box drain connects to the 4" pipe
