large scale tree removal

does anyone have experience with a large scale tree removal around 3 story apartment's? Tree average 12-16" cedar and pine in the 35' range-very few have a large tree crown. There are 5 2~26" pines roughly 50' tall w/ large crown. In all, 79 trees. Anyone with guidance on production rate taking these things down. All trees (except the large 26" trees) can be felled into open area w/ guide ropes (no climbing). I'm thinking the larger cedar has value at the sawmill...havent' spoken with them yet.

any idea what the large company's would be charging-like Asplundsh (sp?)? I've estimated costs/labor and come up with $175 for the smaller trees and $250 for the larger trees up to 18" (small crown-not a lot of debris).

I took down two norfolk pines here. 10-12 inch diameter. 40 feet high. Dropped to open field. 20-30 feet from the house.

$900.00

No removal. No shredding or chipping. Just cut. Drop. Leave.

I should probably tell you this place is an anomaly. You would probably be looking at 40k+ here.

I also don't know much about large scale.

(sp)= Asplundh. http://www.asplundh.com/

Asplundh doesn't do residential work, only utility clearing, well except for their numerous moonlightliing employees using their equipment.

Price would depend on how close you can get with a chipper, how big a chipper you have, how big a truck you have to chip into, how far is your dumpsite, do you have to pay to dump, can you give the wood away, are you covered for tree work, how big is your stump grinder, how fast do they want it done, can you rent everything you need, how much help do you have.........

Mills are usually not interested in residential logs, woodworkers might be.

It ain't the drop & flop, it's the cleanup that's where the money goes. It's labor-intensive and you will have either a LOT of brush and cookies or many loads of chips to haul away.

had a friend in tree business drop 6 large birch for a customer, he chipped and hauled away all the branching for 600 dollars. I cleaned up the logs for firewood. Make sure your insurance covers you for this work.

Send a message via AIM to boman47k
(small crown-not a lot of debris). I'm thinking you are going to have more debris than you may think.
Are these trees clean up to the canopy or will branches have to be cut in order to climb and start cutting in sections?
